WASN 2020 ANNUAL REPORT

June 11, 2021

COVID-19 squashed our optimism for the future to continue to creating support groups during the beginning of 2020 as we only managed to disseminate information on the already created support groups in the communities we had worked in. With funding having  dwindled, staff moved to greener pastures, WASN managed to continue operations during the long journey which was hard and long but the rewards were worthy the sweat. I thank the Board members and staff for their unwavering support and sound advise during the times of strife.

With support from Ministry of Health and Child Care and Olof Palme Center International, WASN achieved a lot in respect to human rights promotion and protection and capacitation of support group members on health issues. The year 2020 saw WASN capacitating women, girls, men and boys through dissemination of information through SMS, WhatsApp on COVID-19 information, dished out masks to support group members, taught them on hand washing or sanitizing and maintaining physical distancing.
