Know that 16 DAYS of Activism concept is derived from the number of days between 25 November the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women & 10 December which is Human Rights Day.

WASN commemorated in Gokwe South District at Svisvi Clinic on the 26th of November 2020 embarking on a multi-sectoral approach involving women, men and stakeholders such as Victim Friendly Unit, Social Welfare, Health personnel, Chief, Councillor, kraal head and organisations the likes of FHi360 and National AIDS Council because everyone in society has an important role to play in ending violence against women and girls. Violence against women and girls is one of the most widespread, persistent and devastating human rights violations in our world today and is a threat to millions of girls and women online and offline. It affects women regardless of their age, background, or level of education. WASN believes in working together across sectors with relevant stakeholders and organisations with similar goals to address the various aspects of violence against women and girls in relation to SRHR, HIV and AIDS.

The campaign encompass other relevant days like World AIDS Day on 1 December, International Women Human Rights Defenders Day 29 November, National Tree Planting Day 1st Saturday of December and Disability Day on 3rd December.
